Walk to the Beach! Uh, No Frickin’ Way
Living along the coast in Carlsbad, I often get requests from buyers seeking primary or vacation homes to enjoy a slice of the Southern California life where they can “walk to the beach.”
I get that, as I would enjoy that, too, and have in past homes.
It’s a loaded request, since first and foremost it brings with it the issue of price.

That’s right, today is the start of the annual Del Mar Home Decorating and Remodeling Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar.
The Del Mar Home Decorating and Remodeling Show 2012 runs through Sunday the 29th and is open 10 – 6 today, 10 - 7 tomorrow, and from 10 until 5 on Sunday.
And it’s FREE!! Except you do have to pay for parking ($9) as is true of most events at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

It’s holiday time again, which means the 17th Annual Holiday of Lights and the “Holiday Hayride” are back at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar California.
The Holiday of Lights opened Thanksgiving evening, offering the largest animated seasonal display on the West Coast and a fun tradition for many residents in the area. There are over 400 lighted animated scenes to drive past along a 1.5 mile course.

The famed Del Mar Racing season will be opening Friday July 20, 2011 at the Del Mar Fair Grounds and Race Track with Opening Day (40,000+ expected), the Hats Contest (with prizes in several categories), lots of celebs, and of course a few horses.
