encinitas homes: Walkable Neighborhoods Series: Downtown Encinitas - 12/07/08 02:10 PM
In this article we'll explore the residential areas surrounding the downtown commercial area of Encinitas, which, happily, is also just a few blocks to the beach. Thus Encinitas buyers in this area can acquire a home that offers walking distance to the downtown area with more than 40 restaurants and 200+ eclectic stores, as well as a short jaunt on foot to the beach - Moonlight Beach in this case at the north end of town, but some folks may walk south to famous Swami's Beach, the best surfing beach in the area (so I've been told). Downtown Encinitas offers a

encinitas homes: Encinitas Real Estate - Pacific Station Construction is Under Way - 10/02/08 10:39 AM
I wrote an article some time ago about the exciting plans for the new Whole Foods Market coming to Encinitas. At the time there was still lots of debate (and there are still many folks that are not in favor, for a variety of reasons) and concerns remain about the impact on traffic, and the changing landscape of this popular coastal town. A drive by just the other day indicates that Pacific Station construction is under way, at least getting the ground prepared and utilities in place. Pacific Station is a $40 million dollar mixed use facility between E and

encinitas homes: Encinitas Real Estate - Cambria is a Starting Point for New Buyers - 08/23/08 11:01 AM
The Encinitas real estate market has remained fairly strong, despite the downturn in the overall San Diego housing market. Its proximity along the coast, a wealth of things to do, wonderful weather, shopping and dining all combine to make the Encinitas real estate market a popular destination for many buyers. Getting into the market for the first time in Encinitas is a challenge for many because of prices, especially if the desire is for a detached single family home. There are several areas that provide a good in-road to homeownership for first time buyers, one of which is Cambria. READ MORE

encinitas homes: Leucadia Real Estate - Ocean Front Homes at Sea Bluff - 07/17/08 07:32 PM
Encinitas area buyers (including those in Carlsbad) who are exploring the Leucadia real estate market will find a lot to like here. This funky community along the coast highway (Route 101) has a reputation for being eclectic, not mainstream, and a terrific place for summer vacations, surfing, and beach life in general. It is not a place you will want to live if having boutiques and high-end eateries in your neighborhood is important. Leucadia is very much what you would expect for a beach town with a strong surfing history in Southern California. Where trailer parks, high-density rental apartments and

Encinitas, California, in North County San Diego, offers a lot to love for residents and visitors. Located about 25 miles from San Diego and about 100 miles south of Los Angeles, there are many things to like about living in this seaside community. Here’s the top 10 list (in no particular order): Terrific weather – well, that can be said about America’s Finest City in general, but it really is true about the area. It never gets too hot or too cold (average temperature is around 72 degrees) in Encinitas. Surfing – you may not be a surfer, but surfing here

encinitas homes: Encinitas Real Estate - The Lofts at Moonlight Beach (Residential) - 05/19/08 07:33 PM
There’s a new loft in town, and it’s going up mighty fast. If you are seeking a new town house at the beach in Encinitas, these new homes could be just the ticket. Walk to Moonlight Beach – perhaps the best all-around beach in the North San Diego County area (just 3 blocks…you can hear and smell the ocean) Walk to downtown Encinitas for shopping, galleries and dozens of restaurants Work and live in the same complex (stay tuned for post on the commercial units to be offered just below these residential units – need an office? encinitas homes: Great Cuban Music, and Food, in Encinitas - 02/29/08 10:59 PM
I visited one of my fave restaurants in the Carlsbad area last night, Le Papagayo, in Leucadia (Encinitas) and heard a terrific Cuban band for the first time. Luna Llena (you can listen to some music here) I love this band…and I think you will too, if you like the sound of traditional Cuban music, vocal harmonies, the pulse of congas and timbales (not the food, silly), and the melodies of the spanish guitar. Playing to a full house at the very popular Le Papagayo, this band is clearly a crowd favorite, and it’s easy to
