La Costa Greens is a master planned community built over the last 5 years by a number of local builders with homes to meet a variety of budgets, style preferences and space needs. Most of the villages have been fully built and now only offer resale homes (some of which are now short sales and REOs at prices that are well below the original cost in some cases).

I often get asked by home buyers in the Carlsbad real estate market about new construction homes and their availability.
We had a good amount of new construction (mostly detached homes) in the last several years, especially in South Carlsbad, and much of that is now gone, with a few exceptions (some condos at The Bluffs, detached homes in the $1 Million range at La Costa Ridge, new homes at Viridian and Trieste at La Costa Greens - prices and availability have changed since there article were written). But there is more on the way.

I still remember the first Earth Day. It seems so long ago...and it was. TOMORROW, Wednesday April 22, 2009 is the 39th anniversary. And so now you can guess (roughly) about how old I am - big whoop.
Earth Day - What a novel idea, but embraced wholeheartedly by many, although certainly not in the early days to the extent it is now. And perhaps the meaning has also changed as we have learned so much more about the impact of our living on the environment, and have seen so much devastation and waste. And know more about global warming.

Here are the summary market data for Carlsbad from the MLS for March 2007. [photo is of new homes in the La Costa Greens Master Planned Community - see link BELOW for a review of this community]. (links to previous Carlsbad market reports: January 2007, February 2007, December 2006, November 2006, October 2006, September 2006)
A few interesting things to point out. First, the inventory, while up slightly from last month (about 3%), is still substantially lower than it was at the end of November. Second, the rate of sales seems to have gone up a little, and there is now only … (2 comments)

La Costa Greens, located in the area of South Carlsbad known as La Costa (home of the world famous La Costa Spa and Resort), is one of the three communities in the La Costa Villages - La Costa Oaks and La Costa Ridge (the newest) being the other two.
Located on the hills of La Costa, with views of the ocean, golf course (the North Course at La Costa) and surrounding hillsides, La Costa Greens is still under construction, although the majority of the homes are built and many are now occupied.
