This stately home belonged to the last reigning monarch of Hawaii, Queen Lydia Lili'uokalani. After the over throw of the Kingdom of Hawaii she remained in residence here under virtual house arrest until her death on November 11, 1917. Threat of counter insurgency kept her a political prisoner for several years after the overthrow. Once Hawaii became a US territory the queen was powerless to regain her Kingdom despite the fact that the President Cleveland had supported the restoration of Hawaiian sovereignty.

The home is being priced around one million and it includes a 17,000sqft lot, a pool and a one bedroom Ohana (family) guest cottage.  

 

This is an occupied stage for a family of four with 3 dogs who were incredibly accommodating to our direction. We staged the entire home and landscaped the yard and pool area. We did not stage the Ohana as it was occupied.

This Beach House was constructed in 1927 but most of the original parts of the house had been replaced at some point over it's history. We wanted to re-establish it's Old School roots so we replaced the ceiling with new bead-board and added cross beams that were common to the era. We also installed 3/4" Bamboo floors, replacing the carpeting.

We salvaged some molding from a previous project and added it beneath the chair rail to give it a little more refinement. We painted the walls a light blue, and the trim molding and ceiling a brilliant white.
