Maestro Anthony Parnther is back guest conducting the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra with pianist David Kaplan. Hailed by Brahms as a masterpiece of art, Kaplan performs Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 paired with Brahms' Serenade No. 1 and the re-discovery of Florence Price's dark and enigmatic tone poem, The Oak.

Leave the wacky world behind for a soothing evening with Brahms and the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra (HSO). Featuring two of HSO’s own musicians, Concertmaster Ignace "Iggy" Jang and Principal Cellist Mark Votapek in the Brahms Violin and Cello Concerto in A minor a.k.a. the Brahms Double Concerto under Maestra Xian Zhang at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 4 and at 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 5.
The program also showcases Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise and two works by Tchaikovsky: the Suite from Sleeping Beauty and Marche Slave.

HSO's Artistic Advisor JoAnn Falletta conducts this 60-minute wiki concert, as we holo holo through the 2015-16 Halekulani Masterworks series. There will be excerpts from the upcoming symphony season including popular highlights from Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 (Ode to Joy), Bizet's opera "Carmen," and Tchaikovsky's famous 1812 Overture. The family event provides an opportunity for Hawai'i residents who may not have attendted the symphony to enjoy a wikiwiki concert for only $5.00, and for current HSO patrons to sit somewhere new in the hall and try out different seats.
