Holy potato salad batman.....I DID IT! My journey through the 30 day blogging challenge. photo courtesy of: http://www.flickr.com/photos/morning-theft/3683753142/ Well this is it, my 30th blog in 30 consecutive days! When I started this journey, I seriously had my doubts that I could do it. I wanted to but I just didn't think I could possibly come up with enough content or time to blog for 30 consecutive days. The first week or so was seriously the hardest! Now I really almost feel like blogging has become a habit (like brushing my teeth and washing my face). I am not going

Goal Setting....How are you gonna reach you're GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAALS? photo courtesy of: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ollesvensson/4252196844/sizes/z/in/photostream/ Several months ago, I wrote a post about schedules, planning and getting organized. While I absolutely think that a schedule is a good thing, sometimes in this business, following a strict schedule can be extremely difficult. I mean really. tell me that if you get a call from a hot (pre-qualified) buyer who wants to view some houses asap you aren't going to jump and run...I know I will! Even if my "schedule" indicates I should be blogging at that hour. Along with this hurdle, I also have the curse

First cookies, now cleavage...is Sesame Street really that bad? - 09/27/10 12:07 PM
First it was cookies, now cleavage...is Sesame Street really that bad? Several years ago, Sesame Street was hit with a scandal over the cookie monster. Many parents were outraged over the little blue monster who praised the almighty cookie. I didn't really see the problem, that's just me. Well Sesame Street responded by changing the cookie monster's diet to include carrots, celery, and other healthy alternatives to the cookie. Now parents are up in arms again over the video Katy Perry made with Elmo. I agree, her outfit seems a little risque for a children's show BUT if I recall, hasn't

I held an open house today, only had one visitor. Was it successful? I say yes! - 09/26/10 10:43 PM
I held an open house today, only had one visitor. Was it successful? I say yes! I held an open house today at one of my listings that is located in a gated (restricted) retirement community. I know what you are thinking...Who holds an open house in a community that has restricted access? Well, the HOA in this particular community is kind enough to hold a neighborhood open house once a month. They invite all agents and homeowners who are selling their houses to hold them open and they allow the public open access to the neighborhood and lodge facilities.

Daryl's Fun Bounce San Antonio, Tx - 09/25/10 04:56 PM
Daryl's Fun Bounce San Antonio, Tx Today we are celebrating my middle child's birthday. We went through the usual suspects when trying to decide where to celebrate and in the end, he decided on an old fashioned home birthday party with the moon bounce. His other request was a sports themed party, that is where we had to do some digging! We found Daryl's Moon Bounce here in Northeast San Antonio. He had a sports-themed moon bounce available, complete with a basketball hoop inside! He arrived on time to set up, his moon bounce is in great shape and squeaky

5 Ways to Avoid Becoming an On-Line Boob - 09/24/10 12:51 PM
5 Ways to Avoid Becoming an On-Line Boob photo courtesy of: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10075621@N06/3810395496/sizes/m/in/photostream/ There is no doubt that the way of doing business and succeeding has changed dramatically over the past several years. The development of on-line presence, SEO, social networking and such has impacted us all. Not all things internet are necessarily used for good, when in the wrong hands, they can in fact be used for evil. It is important for us to remember to use our computers responsibly as well as conduct ourselves in public (on-line or in-person) responsibly so we never miss an opportunity to make that ever so

Having a bad day? Try this... - 09/20/10 02:23 PM
Having a bad day? Try this... Last week we had our bi-weekly office meeting/brainstorming/support session. The topic at hand was staying positive, focused, and motivated and getting geared up to finish 2010 with a bang! There were lots of great ideas (some new and creative, some oldies but goodies) tossed around and shared. Many of us who attended have already made some changes and kicked things up a notch! We spent some time discussing how to stay positive and keep our spirits up when things aren't necessarily going our way. We talked about positive self talk, goal setting and tracking our goals, staying active and

I am looking for a house, is there a charge for that? - 09/19/10 11:19 PM
I am looking for a house, is there a charge for that? I get this question all the time from potential clients and folks who register on my website. It is a very valid question, especially for first time home buyers or folks who are looking to rent. photo courtesy of: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28451957@N06/2806609520/sizes/m/in/photostream/ The short and quick answer is "absolutely not". There is no charge for me to help you find a home, find a lender and get pre-qualified (if you haven't already), write the offer on the house, negotiate with the listing agent on your behalf, set up and attend the inspection, stay in contact

The confidential agent remarks in the MLS are for US...let's all please read them! - 09/17/10 04:06 PM
The confidential agent remarks in the MLS are for US...let's all please read them! Maybe I am crazy and just an odd ball, maybe I am the one who doesn't have it right, but honestly, I don't think that's the case. Whenever I am planning an outing with a client to see some properties I take time to do my homework. If I need to call a listing agent with a question about their listing, I do my homework. If I have a client who wants to submit an offer or a rental application, for Pete's sake, I DO MY HOMEWORK! photo courtesy

Do you complain for fun or for profit? - 09/11/10 05:35 PM
Do you complain for fun or for profit? photo courtesy of: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aturkus/299122321/ There is no shortage of doom and gloom news out there when it comes to the real estate industry, I personally am sick and tired of it. Growing up, I was not allowed to complain about a situation unless I coupled the complaint with a solution. In my former high school teacher life I found this concept to be very useful. Whenever we had a struggling student, it did no good to gripe and complain about things out of our control (i.e. parents, administration, the board of education...).

Lessons from Nanny McPhee - Yes, I'm Talking to You! - 09/04/10 01:05 PM
Lessons from Nanny McPhee - Yes, I'm Talking to You! Yesterday, I took my kiddos to see Nanny McPhee Returns and I thought it was such a cute movie! It was funny, a little sad (yes I cried like a baby), and had a really great message. The story is about a mom with three kids who's husband is away fighting a war. Her niece and nephew have to come stay with her, she is days from losing her farm and minutes from losing her mind. In comes Nanny McPhee, she is a mixture of Mary Poppins and Maria (from Sound of

Well, this morning, I had the GREAT pleasure of hearing him speak at an event put on by the PT50 group in San Antonio and later I got to have lunch
