I recently read in an organic gardening magazine about a nonprofit program called "Farmer-Veteran Coalition "FVC)".  Many soldiers returning home from overseas are finding the economic conditions difficult and with a shortage of young farmers in America today, it appears that these veterans are a natural for working on farms and even starting their own. Soldiers have a lot of potential skills and knowledge that can benefit the agricultural community.
