Today is December 30, 2007 at 9:28 and the temperature outside is 72 degrees. I think this is one of the best reasons to be in Tampa right now.
Now I know this maybe alittle hot for some, but let me tell you that after going to School in Madison WI for 4 years, I will take the sweating in the summer for the open windows in Dec/Jan. The most expensive property to sell in South Tampa was  80 Ladoga, Tampa Fl 33606 on Davis Islands. It sold for $5,175,000 in March of 2006. The property was a 6 bedroom, 8 and a half bath affair with a great open bay view or Bayshore. The property was a total 6740 sqft on almost a full half acre of land and was built by Don Huges. Don Huges has become the prominent builder of the largest waterfront homes in South Tampa.

I have recently found one of the best ways to use my time outside of this wonderful job I have. There is a site called www.freerice.com. It is a work game with lets you test your vocabulary, while at the same-time helping you expand it. The great thing is that for every work you get correct, the site donates 20 grains of rice to the developing world. They do this through the money they raise from the advertising on the site. The skill level changes and constantly challenges you to do better.

It occurred to me recently, that though I use the term "South Tampa" almost everyday, it might not be a well known term outside of the area. Loosely defined these days, South Tampa, refers to any area South of Kennedy Blvd. and north of Gandy. This definition comes with some caveats. First, in most situations the area Known as Ballast Point (South of Gandy and East of Macdill) will be included as part of South Tampa. Even though it is South Of Gandy (SOG). Tampa homes built "green", Enviromentaly friendly buildings are here - 12/08/07 02:42 PM
For the first time we have begun to see some builders using "Green" Building techniques in the homes they are building. We were recently approached by one such builder about listing what they referred to as a "Super" home. The technique they were using is what is called Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). This building technique uses prefab panels made from a thick layer of foam (polystyrene or polyurethane) sandwiched between two layers of Oriented Strand Board. The builders who use this technique claim many benefits including:
-huge insurance discounts.
-protection against all but the worst hurricanes.
-50% more energy efficient (allowing for a smaller A/C unit).
