Nordic skiing is a wonderful alternative to downhill skiing. It is a great way to get away from it all, stay in shape and enjoy the beauty of the Winter Park area. The Fraser Valley offers loads of options for cross country skiing.  Two cross country ski centers are located within 10 miles from the town of Winter Park. Devils Thumb Ranch Nordic Center and Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center  Both offer lessons and rentals as well as dog friendly ski loops.

One of my favorite places in Grand County is the Hot Sulphur Springs Resort. It is a great place to relax and spend a few hours or even the weekend. Located just 20 miles from Winter Park its a short half hour drive to soak all the aches and pains of your ski day away. They offer a full menu of spa services and the view is incredible!
