Reminder That The $8000 Home Buyer Tax Credit Extended for Military Til June! - 01/25/11 01:05 PM
Time is winding down for prospective homeowners to take advantage of the $8,000 tax credit for first-time buyers.
Remember that it's a two-part deal - you must ink a sales contract by April 30 and close by June 30. There's one notable exception, and that's for members of the Armed Forces who are serving on extended duty outside the United States.
Those serving outside the U.S. have an extra year to take advantage of the tax credit. They must sign a sales contract by April 30, 2011, and close by June 30, 2011.
In terms of program requirements, there are a … (0 comments)

Use Your RAS & Make Your Goals Magnetic! - 01/25/11 12:51 PM
Your are probably asking what is your RAS?
It is Reticular Activation System.

Most small business owners, well most people actually, agree that they should set clear goals but the majority of them tend to procrastinate about sitting down and clearly defining their goals. When you understand the phenomenal benefits of goal setting, and how to define magnetic goals, you will love the process and be highly motivated to grab a pen and paper and get those goals set. Magnetic goals have the power to generate amazing results!
Goal setting is perhaps the easiest and biggest opportunity you have to train … (2 comments)

Here Is Freddie Mac's Forecast for Real Estate in 2011 - 01/18/11 01:12 PM
Freddie Mac's analysts points to five features that they believe will likely characterize the 2011 real estate markets:
1.      Advantageous home loan rates. With Fed observers expecting the central bank to keep the federal funds rate at its current target range of 0% to 0.25% for most or all of 2011, advantageous rates will be a feature of the 2011 market. Thirty-year fixed-rate loans are likely to remain below 5.0% throughout the year, and initial rates of 5/1 hybrid adjustable-rate loans will likely remain below 4.0% in 2011.
2.    House prices have hit bottom. Prices are likely to begin a … (3 comments)

Halt Gradual Weight Gain with This Cuisine - 01/18/11 12:00 PM
Did you gained a few pounds in 2010? And 2009? And 2008?
Well, here's a great way to reverse the trend in 2011. Eat Mediterranean-inspired cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Research shows that, compared with people who favor other types of cuisine, people who eat Mediterranean-themed fare are much less likely to gain weight over time.
Mediterranean MenuIt's a fact of life: We all tend to gain weight as we get older -- at least half a pound a year. Over time, that adds up to increased pants sizes and health risks. But in a study, people whose meals most … (0 comments)

Have you checked your dryer vent lately?? - 01/17/11 11:42 AM
As a volunteer firefighter I could not agree more.
This is a great reminder to everyone. You do need to keep your dryer vent clean to avoid house fires.

Via Dave Bender (RE/MAX Realty Group):
Not long ago our clothes dryer started having issues; it was a Kenmore, so we called Sears.  After looking at the unit the service person said the problem was not with our dryer, but that the dryer vent (see photo) had become clogged and the buildup had burned out the dryer motor.  Apparently, the outside vent had become the home to many birds that decided … (1 comments)

When Seconds Matter Residents Need To Shovel Hydrants - 01/14/11 11:35 AM

Residents need to shovel out hydrants near or in front of their homes.
Its easier on firefighters to locate hydrants during an emergency.
Fire companies have map books with hydrant locations but seconds matter.
Some residents take it upon themselves to shovel hydrants, and others some times follow but not all.
