What happend to Fall?
October 15, 2009 snow fall marks the heaviest early-season snowfall on record in the Poconos. With a second storm hittings the area again this weekend. The storm is the earliest significant snowfall in the region since at least 1836 said our local weather person.
Last year we had a similar story an early snowstorm hit as well in October last year as well, though later in the month. On Oct. 27 and 28, the higher elevations of the Pocono Plateau were slammed with 10 to 20 inches of snow.

The Lake Naomi Club, through its members, supporters and donors, has affiliated with a local hospital to provide free screenings and aftercare, if necessary, to uninsured or underinsured women in our area.
The money, raised by the Lake Naomi/Breast Cancer Committee, stays here to help women locally. This year, the money was raised through golf and tennis tournaments and in 2008 with a golf tournament at Lake Naomi. This year more than $35,000 was raised; in 2008, $27,000 was raised.
An extensive silent auction with gifts is donated by local businesses.
