pocono lake: From Cash to Clunkers to Cribs for Clunkers

First time parents or first time grand parents.
Toys R Us will offer manufacturers coupons to customers who bring in used children's equipment such as cribs and high chairs.
Starting this Friday and over the next three weeks, the coupons will offer 20 percent discounts for 16 manufacturers' products. Customers can trade in any used crib, car seat, bassinet, stroller, travel system, play yard or high chair.
CEO Gerry Storch says the program is slated to end Sept. 20, but could be extended.
Participating manufacturers include Baby Cache, Eddie Bauer, Evenflo and Graco, among others.

Everyone is looking to save money so toilet gadgets can do so.
If your toilets date back before 1992, you probably are. And even if you have newer toilets, you can easily make them more efficient.
Most toilets from 1992 and prior were anywhere from three-and-a-half to seven gallons per flush. Today's toilets are one-point-six , some are one-point-two-eight.
Toilets waste money -- and add to your water bill -- because the bowls fill more quickly than the tanks, but they don't stop using water until the tanks are full.

pocono lake: Six Companies Recall Blinds, Shades After Deaths

Local News Indicated that six companies recalled millions of window blinds and shades, following the deaths of three children who got caught in cords that help the coverings move up and down.
The recalls, announced today by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, involve some big-name companies, including Pottery Barn Kids and IKEA as well as smaller companies that sold their window covers at retailers such as Target.
No deaths were associated with the blinds and shades from Pottery Barn Kids and IKEA, but CPSC says there have been six reports of children becoming entangled in the inner cord of the Pottery Barn … (1 comments)

I am not into politics but I wanted to take this moment to acknowledge Senator Ted Kennedy.
While in the senate he wrote more then 300 bills that have been put into law.
He served nine terms in the Senate.
His next project was Healthcare.
They say "Ted Kennedy, was the "liberal lion" of the Senate who was once tipped to succeed his assassinated brother John as president".

Even though he is not up for being reappointment Obama is to nominate Bernanke to 2nd term at fed.
They say the reason for the annoucement is to keep the economy moving.
"The president thinks that Ben's done a great job as Fed chairman, that he has helped the economy through one of the worst experiences since the Great Depression and that he has essentially been pulling the economy back from the brink of what would have been the second Great Depression," the White House chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, said Monday night.
What does this mean for real estate agents?

pocono lake: Obama’s stimulus package to provide rebates for energy-efficient appliances?

Next on the stimulus agenda is a rebate on appliances.
The US stimulus bill recently signed into law by US President Barack Obama includes a $300 million provision to fund the Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program.
The consumer rebate will offset the cost differential between Energy Star and non-Energy Star appliances. These savings, coupled with the lifetime energy savings, would more than pay for the total investment in the new appliances.
This may come in handy with first time buyers.

Last year was a sit down dinner this year was a social with light snacks and beverages.
