Nationally, the average sales price was $282,600, according to a new survey by the <a href="http://agbeat.com/real-estate-news-events/new-home-sales-up-10-challenges-remain-for-the-sector/">U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development</a>.</p> <p>While sales are doing better nationally, different regions of the country have had varying success. In the south, new home sales have decreased dramatically by 10.6%. The Northeast experienced the highest increase at 7.7%. If an appraised home is valued at less than the contract price, the mortgage company will usually allow a loan for the lesser value. This can be stressful and frustrating for buyers and sellers, but it makes sense for mortgage companies who may be concerned about borrowers defaulting on loans.<br> <br> Your local market conditions play a big role in your home's appraisal, so be prepared. If there are a lot of homes in your area being foreclosed on, you run the risk that they can be purchased for much less than your home, which will bring your value down as well. Also be sure to update their collars with current contact info in the event he or she decides to go run off.<br><br>Routine is important before, during, and after the move. If your dog or cat is used to eating and going outside at certain times of day, keep them consistent to keep stress to a minimum.<br><br>Diet is also a key to staying consistent with your pet during moving and unpacking. If he or she is on a specific diet, stock up before the move on their favorite foods to eliminate any problems acquiring it at your new residence.<br><br>If you're moving a long distance with your pet, be sure to stock up on food, blankets, water, and take stops every so often to let him or her get some exercise. <br><br>As a member of your family, your pets will have similar emotions during moving.
