ADVERTISING – Those ads that seem too good to be true.
 

 
I have been in the mortgage business for 17 + years.  I have seen so much advertising when it came to mortgage companies and how many of the ads were misleading or just flat out lies.  Those companies advertising low rates that didn't happen.  This easily went on from 1992 to 2002. I always wondered why this wasn't regulated as strongly as it should have been.  I found out that some of these companies had 100's of complaints, yet they still operated for those 10 years. … (48 comments)

How many times do we see advertisements that seem too good to be true. How about the small print that you don't pay attention too. How about the sales person that is more worried about telling you what you want to hear, rather than what they should be telling you. This happens more times than one would think when it comes to mortgages and real estate.
 
Hint : Just because it says sale or one puts an awesome rate and no fees on your good faith estimate, doesn't mean that this is the gospel according to the truth. Or … (16 comments)

I have been reading several blogs that talk about branding yourself or marketing yourself. But after reading these, they all seem to talk about the same thing. In reality, there is an actual difference between the two.
A brand is a name, logo, slogan, and/or design scheme associated with a product or service. Brand recognition and other reactions are created by the use of the product or service and through the influence of advertising, design, and media commentary. From wikipedia.

advertising: Marketing..... Good or Bad - 12/12/06 07:54 AM
Now... I don't mind changes from time to time. Even after several marketing classes in college, which I think are out-dated, I sometimes wonder what some people or business's try to accomplish.
I went to do a Google search this morning and this is what I found. I don't know of any press releases or reason behind this. Any thoughts, opinions, or inside information to as why they did this would be great. Maybe even getting the opinion of Marti Garaughty or Jeff Corbett who both seem good at marketing perspectives.
