Do people still fall for such phrases as the best interest rate? Or guarantees with fine print or misleading titles or misleading fine print? Haven't many of us learned from this or from others that fell for it? How about common sense? Or just the fact that you get what you pay for.

What is the best mortgage program for me?
When shopping for a mortgage, it can be confusing at times, depending on where you get your information. You should not always base your information on such terms as Expert, Mortgage Expert, FHA Expert, etc, etc. Just because someone says they are an Expert doesn't always mean that they are an expert. There are so many variables to what mortgages are good for a borrower.
How does a borrower determine what is good for them? What things should be important? Make sure ....

How many of you just pick who you want to do business with blindly? Do you do research? Were you referred to them? Do you go with the person that promises you the best rate or no costs? Someone that promises you the best price for your house? Or do you steer away from those that sound like a sales person....just going with that person that sounds sincere, genuine, yet knowledgeable.

How do we view ourselves? How does the public view us, our profiles, and anything else that they read?
Are we that desperate to 'rope' the consumers business into our back yard per se by such statements as :
"I have the lowest rates" "We charge no closing costs" "I will get the best price for your house, guaranteed" "I am the best and cheapest, I will beat anyone's pricing" So let's do a reality check here. Do you ever not have enough ammunition when heading into battle? Never!! For some of you, I been in the mortgage industry for over 14 1/2 years. To me, that’s a lot of miles per se.
I consider myself well versed when it comes to FHA mortgages and I guess you could say an expert on them. But this is not the only thing that I do. It starts with the Republican and Democratic leaders on the House Financial Services Committee. They are planning to make predatory lending legislation a major priority next year, regardless of the outcome of the November elections.
Now, with this in mind, whose better interest do they truly have in mind; the borrower or the lenders out there. I know there have been several blogs and comments made on behalf of this topic.
