family: My Nephew & his class could use some help - Christmas Choir Song Contest - 12/07/11 11:22 AM

Hey all.... I first started on Active Rain on October 3rd 2006... I haven't been around in the last 10 months or so like I use to. Been very busy on my new project, MyPhillyAlive .... And from day one, AR has been like a 2nd family to me and still think of them as that, plus all the friendships that I have made over the years.
We have had a few members over the last several months experience some family member woes. Not sure how to put it in words, but my thoughts and prayers go out to their … (7 comments)

family: Speechless Sundays - The Twins turning 3 years old - 04/10/11 09:24 PM

We had a few birthdays that were celebrated at my parents house in Medford,New Jersey.
Happy Birthday ... Happy Happy Birthday... what a day. For those that read some of my posts, I talk about my sister and her family. She has 6 kids, 3 boys and 3 girls. Well, the youngest two are twins and tomorrow they turn 3 years old. But we celebrated their birthday today.
As you can see, Ava had her own table with her own cake. We then had to go over to the other table and sing happy birthday to Joey... lol

family: Wordless Wednesdays - Memories - They can be lost in a flash - 03/24/11 12:09 AM

I guess I am getting very sentimental in my old age. Or was it after watching 60 minutes tonight, in which I recorded from Sunday night.

Not sure if anyone saw 60 minutes this past Sunday, but after seeing the devastation that took place in Japan, it really made me think.

What is your energy source? What makes you want to get up early, to strive for that great day. What is your motivation at times? That spark plug.. that flame... overall, what helps you produce your energy to be successful in your life and for your business.
Well, Sally Cheeseman started a group over 3 years ago called POSITIVE ATTITUDE for the Weary Soul.  It's the kind of group that can bring you a 'pick me up' just like caffeine does when drinking coffee … (14 comments)

I just love hanging around my nieces and nephews and am very lucky that I live pretty close. My sister and brother-in-law have 6 kids, 3 girls and 3 boys. 3 of the kids are adopted... and just a wonderful family. I went through some of the pictures that I had and decided to put together a little slide show. Enjoy....

The adorable twins, Ava and Joey, on Valentine's Day. They will be 3 years old on April 11th. Yes, I know, they are my niece and nephew.. and we all love our kids, nieces, nephews, and or grand-kids. But I really love these two.. they have so much energy and I truly think they are both really cute. (If any of you follow my Wednesday or Sunday posts, many times, these two are all over them.

Here are Joey & Ava playing dress up. They are the youngest, twins, who will be 3 years old in April. My sister has someone that helps out so often during the month, taking the twins on little mini trips.

family: Merry Christmas - Family time is so important - 12/25/10 10:12 PM

Spending time with family is always important. In my opinion, something that you don't want to lose sight of, no matter how busy you are or how fast life flys by. It was good to spend time with my parents, my sister, and her family of 6 kids at my sister's house in Medford Lakes, New Jersey. My sister and I are the two not in this picture. But look, Santa Claus was able to join us.

For those that don't know, my sister has been blessed with 6 kids... yes, 6.  And it is just like the Brady Bunch or you could possibly say, like Noah's Ark.. two by two.  3 boys and 3 girls... 11, 11, 8, 6, and twins at 2 1/2 yrs of age. And my brother-in-law is an excellent person and father...
In any case, they sometimes have this girl Michelle help out with the twins during the week and or weekend. She sometimes takes them to places for hours or even a full day. Well, she took them … (8 comments)

After being on Active Rain for a tad over 4 years, I consider this place as a second family and a second home. There are a dozen or so that I have gotten to know over the last 3 years who I would consider like immediate family, which holds a special place in my heart. I will get to see a few of them come this Monday & Tuesday. AR gathering Monday the 29th & AR RainCamp the 30th. But most of all, what has become very special, is my immediate family.
For many of you that … (21 comments)

family: Celebrating with family.... Birthdays - - 07/03/10 10:35 AM

Yesterday we celebrated my mom's 66th birthday at my sister's house in Medford Lakes, New Jersey. We were waiting for my mom and dad to show up, since they were playing golf earlier.
So I was out with my niece and nephew while they played in their kid vehicles.  Joey decided to hope in with my niece Ava and let a women drive him around.  Smart kid...  lol

FAMILY & FRIENDS – So important

As several of you know, my sister adopted 11 years ago. It has turned out to be a wonderful story. It started with the fact that my sister couldn't have kids, well, that is what several specialists had said from all over. So my sister and brother-in-law decided to adopt. They were actually approved to adopt up to 3 kids at once and this took place in Kazakhstan. They adopted a boy and girl, Katerina and Johnny. Well, when they came back after about a solid month in Kazakhstan, because of … (20 comments)

family: Family and the holidays....... A joyful time indeed - 12/30/08 07:44 AM

The holidays.... I just love them. Especially being around my family. For many that know, I am not married nor do I have any kids. But I have 3 nieces and 3 nephews. All with a unique story and each with a different personality.
My sister, about 12 years ago, was diagnosed with cancer and was told that she couldn't have kids. After trying every possible method, they ended up adopting. They decided to adopt a boy and girl, who are now 9 years old. After they came back from Kazakhstan, where they adopted, she found out that she was … (26 comments)

family: Not taking THANKSGIVING for granted while surrounded by family & friends... - 11/27/08 10:55 PM

I love the Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays. Not only the present times, but those times in the past, bringing back so many memories. And feeling how fortunate that I am surrounded by a loving family & some great friends, even those here on Active Rain.

I can remember coming home for Thanksgiving when I was in the Military.... Another time while staying at college one year and cooking my first Thanksgiving dinner for my best friend's roommate who was from Spain and one of the waitresses that I worked with when I bartended at a restaurant.  Again, so many … (17 comments)
