So, what is a HUD home? It is a home that HUD now owns that was foreclosed upon in which it was an FHA insured property. HUD is then the property owner, in which it trys to sell it to recover the loss on the foreclosure claim. The home has to be a 1 - 4 family residential property.

After having a brief conversation with Thesa Chambers earlier today in regards to First Time Homebuyers and FHA, she told me that I should write about this. She thought FHA was only for first time homebuyers. This is far from the truth and this has nothing to do with Thesa and her knowledge of real estate. She is great at what she does and how she helps her clients buying or selling in the Sunriver, Bend, La Pine, Oregon areas.

What ever happened to the old way of doing business. Just going down the street to your neighborhood bank and get a loan at any time based on a handshake. Everyone was friendly and willing to help, even when you were in trouble. Remind you of anything? Does "It's a Wonderful Life" come to mind? Not anymore.... Banks don't want your homes. They aren't in the business to sell homes. Then again, it seems like we might be heading into a new phase with some of the larger banks wanting to get into the real estate market.
