trust: Loyalty - is it a given? is it expected? - 01/06/11 04:59 PM
I am from the old school that a gentleman's handshake should be just as good as any contract. Isn't that were integrity and loyalty formulate from also? Well, the word loyalty has always struck me kind of funny ever since I got into this business in 1992. Maybe I just hold myself to a different standard than many. We all know that phrase, "out-of-sight out-of-mind", right? If I am that good, why do many forget about you in such a short time? What got me thinking about this was for two reasons. #1 - Gerry Michaels

trust: TRUST - Find a trusted realtor or loan officer - Who defines trust ??? - 03/06/10 09:08 AM
TRUST – Trusted – Find a very trusted realtor/loan officer – I can give you someone to trust Let's first define trust. - Wikipedia defines trust as : "A trusted party is presumed to seek to fulfill policies, ethical codes, law and their previous promises." It then goes on to say...."Trust does not need to involve belief in the good character, vices, or morals of the other party. Trust is a statement about what is otherwise unknown -- for example, because it is far away, cannot be verified, or is in the future.

trust: An FHA Expert - When shopping for a mortgage, what should you look for??? - 11/09/08 04:02 PM
FHA loans & FHA mortgages -- I have always said that it can't be easy to shop for a mortgage. With so many loan officers and lenders making promises, how do you know who is telling the truth or not? Sure, many people can sound so trusting and honest. My advice, compare at least 3 loan officers, but don't compare just on the lowest rate. That could probably be the biggest mistake that you would make. FYI... anyone can promise the lowest rate and or fees and even put it on paper. But remember, it's not always worth the

trust: Is the referral from your realtor more powerful than someone from the internet? - 04/19/08 01:47 AM
So, what is the answer to the million dollar question? Question : Is the referral from your realtor more powerful than someone from the internet? Answer : Yes and No..... The internet is very widely used for so many different uses nowadays. The NAR, National Association of Realtors, has stated that 80% of the consumers start shopping for homes and mortgages online. Now, that doesn't mean that all 80% will finalize their deal with someone online. But they at least start their process online. So, how do you know who to trust? My advice, do some research. You can search individuals names on the

trust: Misdleading or false advertising - The reality of the truth - 04/03/08 02:04 PM
Times are frustrating. We have been in a changing real estate/mortgage market in the last 12 months. As a lender or realtor, you really need to think outside the box at times, but in good consciousness. As a consumer, you don't know who or what to believe or trust at times. Not everything written on the internet or in an advertisement is true or accurate. So then what? I have been reading a lot of blogs and watching some TV commercials that make me sick to my stomach. Hey, I am not perfect nor do I know everything.

trust: The credit crisis aka the Wheel of MisFortune - 03/09/08 12:54 PM
Has the real estate market been your wheel of misfortune? Have you been made promises after promises? Have you bought into the hype of what one company or person might promise you, but at the very end, it's not even close to what they promised? Does a realtor promise you a high listing price, higher than anyone else did in recent months? Did a loan officer from a mortgage company promise you a great rate with low to no fees? Currently we are in a credit crunch, no matter how you look at it. Credit card companies are losing

trust: I want you... I want your business..... Pretty please, I am good, trust me...... - 08/05/07 08:20 AM
"I want your business! Why won't you give me a try? I promise to do a good job. We should give each other a chance to work with each other because we are both on Active Rain." This seems to be the theme as of lately, 'asking for business'. I am not here to knock the way people ask for business, but I just wanted to give my .02. I have read 3 different posts this week all written by loan officers talking about referrals. The problem is not so much asking for the business, but expecting it just because you are

trust: Mortgage Shopping -- Rate vs Payment...... - 04/18/07 10:38 PM
Me - "What kind of payment do you want and or feel comfortable with?" Consumer - "I want that rate of 5.5%." Me - "Your payment is going to be $2,500 based on that $200,000 house ." Consumer - "That's too much. Why is it so much?" Me - "Sir, it would be better if I asked you a few questions first. Again, what payment would you feel comfortable with? 2nd, what are your goals? (I would go into more detail at this time) These are 2 great questions that will allow me to get to know more about you, so I can
