One of my first jobs out of college my manager took me aside and said those words to me.  At the time it stung a little but I still think about that advice.  When showing a home today that came to me and I just stood back and listened.  As I did many things that were discussed kind of settled themselves without any input from me.  They left happy and I am now puttting together an offer for the home.

Interesting facts about Historic La Grange Kentucky, a little bit of heaven! - 08/03/08 09:10 PM
La Grange Kentucky is located a short 28 miles from Metro Louisville Kentucky.  It was founded in 1827 and how has a population of over 5,800.  La Grange has the distinction of having a railroad that runs through the center of town at 10 mph.  When the train comes through cars pull to the side and park.  The downtown district has charming antique shops, clothing boutiques and wonderful places to dine. 
Some famous natives of La Grange include;

Friday night my Broker, Mike Brown and our significant others met at the office.  Yes that's right on a Friday night!!!  When I walked in Mike had a huge hammer and he slammed it into the wall that had separated his office and mine!!  Well what do you think I did??!!  I grabbed hold and pulled the door frame off!!  In the middle of this I was faxing over an acceptance on a sales agreement, trying to enter a new listing in the MLS while answering a question about closing for a client of mine on the cell.

Prospect Kentucky, it is a MUST SEE! - 08/03/08 07:31 AM
The city of Prospect gets it's name from the Latin derivative for the word view.  Well this is indeed appropriate. 
The cities origins began in the late 1800's mainly as a farming community.  It was not until the 1960's with the development of Hunting Creek Subdivision complete with a golf course that the town started to gain momentum. Some of the current primary developments include Hunting Creek Country Club, Hunting Creek Subdivision, Wolf Trace, Sutherland, Norton Commons and Fox Harbor Subdivision.  Today's population is just under 9000 happy and educated folks.  Prospect has the highest percentage of college graduates in the state … (0 comments)

Belknap Neighborhood in the Highlands, Louisville Kentucky - 08/02/08 05:00 PM
The Belknap Neighborhood is located 5 miles SE of Downtown Metro Louisville Kentucky.  In the 2000 census it was stated to have 3,630 people with 55% being female and 58% being college graduates.  Bellermine University, a small private Libral Arts College is located on the Boundary of the Belknap Neighborhood. 
The area was largely undeveloped until the very early 1900's.  In fact at the intersection of Douglass and Bardstown Road there was a stagecoach stop called Two Mile Horse!  I am sitting right there now writing this blog.

Skip the boring paper plates and cups and use inexpensive items you already have. Send your invitations by Evite or American Greetings. Plan your menu using items you can pick up at the Bardstown Road Farmers Market. Decorate your tables with natural or recycled items.  Anything is possible with fun and a little imagination. Put out recycle bins with regular trash cans and encourage your guest to use them. Remember to put all organic leftovers in your compost heap. Why would I say that when I also love my job?  Because I started this morning at 7 am and I am just now getting home and watching a show on cable about Frankentien!
 
All day long I was helping folks who needed me.  Helping people with real estate transactions can and should be a wonderful experience.  Each of you, I am sure, have done the same thing today. 
If I had known how rewarding real estate can be I would have gotten started years ago.  Well better late than never!
