Clean, clean and clean, yes even windows and baseboards. Stand at the curb and see how your house looks.  If there are leaves or debris in the street in front of your house, clean it up.  Pick up the dead branches laying in your yard. Sweep the front steps, remove the cigarette butts, straighten that hanging shutter … (7 comments)

decatur: Proposed $15,000 Tax Credit for HomeBuyers - 02/05/09 09:10 AM
There seems to be lots of questions on the $15,000 tax credit for home buyers. It isn't officially a law yet, but the Senate did approve an Amendment that would allow a tax credit of 10 percent of the value of new or existing residences, up to a $15,000 limit, whichever is less. To break it down, if you’re buying a $150,000 home or above you could get a credit of $15,000. If you’re buying a $100,000 home you could get a tax credit of $10,000.
Current law provides for a $7,500 tax break but only for first-time home buyers. The … (2 comments)

Last night the Decatur City Commissioners voted to defer the large scale annexation of residential and commercial areas of Decatur, for now.  Peggy Merriss, the City Manager recommended that they defer the decision to annex for 24 months.
Hundreds of residents banded together in opposition of the Annexation. They were encouraged to voice their opinions to the City and they did. It was really amazing to see how the community came together on this issue.
Here is the article that was in the AJC today.
