foreclosure: Las Vegas Enacts Bill Criminalizing Improper Property Maintenance - 01/16/12 06:46 PM
A new Las Vegas city ordinance amends the municipal code making it the lenders' obligation to maintain vacant homes even if the property is about to default or go into foreclosure and the title is still in the borrower's name. Those who do not comply to the new maintenance requirements could face misdemeanor criminal charges that include a $1,000 fine and six months imprisonment.
