Memphis-area home sales for April rose 18.3 percent from a year ago, with 1,386 total sales recorded in the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® MAARdata property records database. Total sales increased 19.1 percent from March. Average sales price year-over-year rose 5.8 percent at $135,104. Inventory was up 1.9 percent, with 6,447 units listed for sale. Sales volume YTD increased 20.6 percent to $612.3 million.

“The local housing market continues to grow,” said MAAR President Regina Hubbard. “We saw a nice improvement from a year ago April, with sales volume up 25 percent.”
