Putnam County Mortgage Tax! Are you informed?? - 10/15/09 09:52 PM
In case you werent aware, the Putnam County legislation recently voted in a .25 percent mortgage tax. Not everyone was in agreement. The vote was 5-4 in favor of this tax.
Some of the opposers felt that once this is passed there is would be stopping the legislation from increasing this amount and also the fact that people are already over taxed. Not too mention that Putnam County already has one of the highest closing costs for a buyer in the tri-state are ranging from more than 1-2 percent.
