HUD (Housing and Urban Development) homes are a part of the The Federal Housing Administration(FHA). FHA insured loans provide federal mortgage insurance to homes owners. When homes purchased through the FHA programs are foreclosed on, the lender can file a claim for the mortgage payoff and the ownership of the home will go to HUD. As with many facets of our environment, the Appalachian trees are in danger due to pollution and environmental changes. The woolly adelgid is an insect that is a direct threat to our Hemlock Trees in the North Georgia region. The air pollution and climate over time weakens these protective trees and leaves then vulnerable to disease and bugs. On Saturday, October 2, my family will be joining others in our community for the Etowah River Clean Up. Volunteers will receive a Rivers Alive T- shirt and lunch at Revival Gardens. The Chestatee River Clean up is planned for October 16. This is a great way to spend the day with our kids leaning about nature, community and doing our part.
