jennifer esposito: Walking for Animals - 10/03/09 03:10 PM
On October 25th in Lisbon, CT there will be a Walk for Farm Animals. The walk is to raise both funds and awareness about the Farm Sanctuary. The Farm Sanctuary rescues, rehabilitates, and provides care for farm animals as well as educates the public about the farm industry. This will be the first walk I've ever participated in. Over the years I have donated to charitable groups who help animals and adopted many companion animals. I think it will be a nice combination of some of my favorite (non-real estate related) things: spending time outdoors, walking and animals. If you or someone you know

jennifer esposito: PumpkinTown - 10/19/08 11:49 AM
Last year we visited PumpkinTown in East Hampton, CT. It was so much fun that we visited again this year...Free during the week there is a small admission fee on weekends. A fun place to bring the family (no dogs allowed) and celebrate fall and Halloween. There are an assortment of sheds and small buildings all made up to look like a town. There is the famous fast food burger place, a church, a jail, a post office etc. The residents of the town are Pumpkin people and they all have very creative names pertaining to vegetables and other produce.

jennifer esposito: Hey! It's the GENERAL LEE! - 08/11/08 03:02 PM
Sunday was the third annual Main Street Car Cruise in Putnam, CT. Hosted by the town of Putnam and the Tri-State Cruisers Car Club. Talk about cars! I've never seen so many classic cars in one place. Streets were blocked off, oldies were cranking from various locations, and there were even a few vendors selling crafts, jewelry and food. No charge for parking or admission. Located in and around Putnam's antique district there are restaurants, shopping and walking paths in the vicinity of the cruise. I saw the General Lee but no sign of Bo or Luke...

jennifer esposito: Hands On Learning - 08/06/08 04:22 PM
Some people accept downtime and free time gracefully, I do not. I am not one for just sitting around, not on a beach, not on a couch-not anywhere. My husband can attest to my inability to simply ‘relax' and do nothing. Recently things have slowed down for me and I've had some time to fill. What better way to utilize this time but to learn more about my career. Not the dreaded ‘stuck in class all day in a windowless room' but real life application. When I first began my career in real estate (or maybe while taking the class) I

jennifer esposito: JenRan Realty, LLC has gone YELLOW! - 07/28/08 11:13 AM
After two failed attempts to get a free listing in the Reminder phone book I'm happy to say that JenRan Realty, LLC is part of the Putnam/Willimantic Yellow Book. According to the sales representative, Lorraine Nelson, people are still looking to the phone book for services. Yellow Book has an extensive advertising campaign which serves as a helpful reminder to pick up the phone book when we don't know who to call. I'll admit I use search engines 90% to find information on goods, services, people, etc. but sometimes I need a phone book. Since opening JenRan Realty, LLC in 2005

jennifer esposito: Roseland Park - 07/17/08 12:41 PM
Summer is here and gas prices are way up... Sometimes it's good to get out of the house without breaking the bank. We like to take our daughter to the local park: Roseland Park located on Roseland Park Road in rural Woodstock, CT is a fun and FREE place to visit. At just over 60acres there is much natural beauty as well as man-made activities to keep everyone busy. There is a lake for fishing and boating, a boat launch is located on the grounds for visitor convenience. For the nature lovers there are hiking trails winding their way up and around the hill-great

jennifer esposito: Invitations and Blog #100 - 06/06/08 03:37 PM
This is it, my no frills 100th blog. Although it seemed so impossible when I started blogging back in September, here it is. I was so excited when I realized my next blog would be the big 100! Seems like it should be about something (although Seinfeld had a good run based on the concept of nothing). I just sent an invitation to one of my newest agents who is curious to learn what ActiveRain is all about. She isn't interested in blogging right now but who knows what will happen if she joins our family here on AR. I admit I had

jennifer esposito: 'Land Season' is Here - 02/26/08 11:58 AM
The season for land buyers has begun. Spring is just around the corner and people know it's a good time to finalize plans to build that new house. I love working with land buyers. It is so much fun to walk properties with a map and compass in hand and discuss their project. At the moment my clients have me searching in Tolland County, Windham County, and New London County. It's more than just hiking; at JenRan Realty, LLC we make sure our buyer clients receive comprehensive information about the property including-maps, deed restrictions (if any), site plans (if available), local zoning information,

jennifer esposito: The ZLot, Connecticut's very own auction site... - 02/19/08 09:37 PM
If you are looking for a local on-line auction site check out: http://www.thezlot.com/index.asp This is a terrific place to buy and sell items in Connecticut especially those difficult (okay, impossible) to ship items. No listing fees and no charge on sales up to $10.00! Plus, sellers can upload up to 6 photos for FREE! Not a lot of people know about this affordable and easy to use auction site so I thought I'd help spread the word. If they ask, tell them, 'JenRan sent you.' jennifer esposito: Something Different to Try... - 02/06/08 09:50 AM
I've been told to give a presentation at my husband's home building seminar(s). At first I thought it would be a one-time deal, but I think I'll be doing at least three this year. Free Homebuilding Seminars To be honest I haven't done any formal public speaking since high school. I remember what to do/not to do and also remember vividly how terrified I was to stand in front of the class. Do I want to subject myself to this? Yes I do. Part of being a real estate agent is giving presentations to people so this will be similar except

jennifer esposito: A New Direction in Real Estate - 01/18/08 02:23 PM
The slogan, "A New Direction In Real Estate" encompasses all aspects of our company. It rings true for our clients as well as our agents. With all this technology and the Internet at our disposal we can break free of a traditional brick-and-mortar office and much of the 'old school' way of doing things. We still believe in old-fashioned customer service and want our clients to be 100% satisfied. We also know that a strong Internet presence, which includes a comprehensive website along with other Internet-based advertising, is crucial to selling homes. Another somewhat new and different idea we have is that home sellers can save

jennifer esposito: In Google We Trust? Maybe Not. - 01/18/08 11:38 AM
According to a new study 49% of people who use Google don't trust it. Since much of the ActiveRain's population is really trying hard to show up at the top of search engines I thought this might be of interest. As it turns out trust levels for all media (including TV and radio) aren't very high either. http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/01/17/search-atheism-on-the-rise/ Hopefully when prospective clients find us on a search engine they will visit our websites to learn more about us and learn that, yes, we are real and can be trusted.

jennifer esposito: Considerations For Land Buyers - 01/16/08 09:04 PM
Just like buying a house there is much to consider when buying land... Here is a list of questions to think about before you begin your search. You may save time and aggravation if you have an idea of what you will be looking for. What will be the primary use of the land? Full time residence, vacation home, business, agriculture, or strictly recreational use? Most towns have regulations and/or restrictions when it comes to construction and use of land which will determine if/how a given parcel can be developed. What type of land do you want? Lightly wooded, forest, open fields, hillside, rolling etc. How much acreage

jennifer esposito: So My Name Won't Come Up On Google Anytime Soon - 10/30/07 11:13 AM
There, I've said it. My name isn't going to come up on Google anytime soon. Maybe I should change my name or revert back to my maiden name. No, then it would be like starting over again and I've come to far to do that. The problem is, Jennifer Esposito is an actress and I'm not. I'm guessing she doesn't have to blog or even have access to the Internet-just existing gets her name recognition. My company has a website, I blog, I utilize other websites to list property and I'm 'out there' but so far it's not enough. Of course I
