..Recently one of our listings had a VA contract on it. I thought it was a good thing for the veteran and the seller. The VA assigned appraiser did the appraisal in late March this year. The appraiser used short sales and foreclosures even though there were regular sales available..it was nuts.
  The appraisal came in almost 21k below the contract price an killed the deal. The buyer and the seller contacted the VA to ask for another appraisal only to findout,this low appraisal will stigmatize this property for VA as and on record value. They might get back to … (14 comments)

..So, what does everyone think about the (value added tax) VAT? Who is getting the value? Where are my incentives for hard work?

..What is an appraisal,but one persons opinion of the value of something. In most of our cases it is a house,apartment or condo. Maybe , I thought the Veterans administration would send a competant person to do an appraisal. Under the current administration this may not happen.,due to appraiser's that know nothing of the community that they do the appraisal in.
   The appraisal that came in on a particular property was exactly 55 thousand less than a recent refiance appraisal that was done less than 4 months ago.
