One of the Advantages of living in Fuquay-Varina North Carolina (which is about 20 miles south of Raleigh) is the mild winters.  This view is a rare one.  We have neighbors who play golf year round at Bentwinds Country Club.  They have propane heaters in their carts and as long is it not raining too hard, will play every week.  However this Sunday morning, I didn't see any golfers, I did however, see gold cart tracks in the snow on the cart path.  We have a community of die hard golfers, but I don't think they will be out with … (8 comments)

In case you are under 40, you might not recognize my quote is a play on words from an old movie.  The correct quote is 'Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus".  I took some photos from my windows because I don't plan on actually going outside unless i HAVE TO.  Good advice for everyone.  I wanted to share some pictues with you

Winter Weather in NC - 01/29/10 12:46 PM
There is a big winter storm moving across the country and it is scheduled to hit North Carolina today.  What I find amusing and the focus of the blog is the general populations response to the news.  In the Raleigh area, the 1st snow flake is not scheduled to hit until after dark, however some of the counties has dismissed school 2 hrs early.  Some schools have cancel led any extra curricular activities for tonight .

Springfield North subdivision in Fuquay-Varina is a neighborhood with large lots and no HOA.  Nestled between Bentwinds Country Club and Crooked Creek golf course, Springfield north is a well established neighborhood.  Springfield North is 5 minutes North of Fuquay-Varina, but there are no city taxes.

If you have a horse and you are looking for a horse friendly community, perhaps Saddle Run is for you.  Saddle Run is off of Sunset lake road and close to Fuquay-Varina or Holly Springs and only 10 minutes to Cary.

In the days of the American Indians (or native Americans if you prefer), if they needed rain, they would do a rain dance.  Present day meteorologist would say that is a bunch of bunk,  You can't make it rain by dancing?  But they are missing the most important part of the dance.  The rain dance worked because they would dance until it rained.  Let me say that again THEY DANCED UNTIL IT RAINED.

Home Owners Association.  Some love them, some hate them.  A wise man once said "All things in moderation" and I think HOA's fall into this category.  They are OK in moderation.  As Americans, we love and have fought hard for our freedom and we hate the concept of anyone telling us what we can do on our own property. 
Home Owners Association's  should be able to do things to maintain a home owners property values.  Nobody wants to live next door to a neighbor with major appliances on the front porches, abandonded cars on blocks with weeds growing around it, … (1 comments)

Do you make New Years Resolutions?
 Are the type of person who makes New years Resolutions?  If so, how long do you stick with your resolution.  In case you missed it, the TV is full of ads for weight loss, stop smoking, etc.  They want to capitalize on your desire for change.  But what is so special about 1/1/XXXX?
