Wow, how things have dramatically changed! I joined ActiveRain November 7, 2010. We had just moved to Missouri to work with a church ministry for 2 years and I needed to supplement the income. Little did I know what that would have turned into!
This was my actual Facebook post from that day that I ran across in the memories today:

So, I love AR points, I love the system, I love watching the numbers go up and keep track of all those fun things... but something I just noticed and am soooo not too happy with (as should be everyone on the most subscriber list) is the fact that AR just bumped almost all of us! I was #27 on the list and I come back from the weekend to find I was #33. It took a few hundred subscribers to bump up under the 30 mark and now all of a sudden I'm 6 behind? Don't expect too much out of me
The next two weeks is going to be the most hectic it's been in two years. Two years ago we moved to Missouri from Washington state and now, in just over a week, we will be moving back.
Tim and I came to Missouri to work on some major ministry projects within our church headquarters. WHOOHOO - 300K Points in the Bag! I was waiting and waiting for that 7,000 point reward from the local posts contest to drop into my bag and today that number put me over the 300K mark! I don't know what I am more excited about; the numbers or the reality of another $10 off my monthly AR bill? Both are cool and both add more authority and more money in my pocket each month.

I have a lot of people that ask me if ActiveRain is a good investment. Should I spend the money or should I just go with a free blogging platform? It all depends on where you're starting from. If you are brand-new to the blogging world, have a brand-new website, or just don't know where to start, ActiveRain is an excellent option.

Can a personal photo make more people interact with you? When commenting, clicking on or in general, doing business with, doesn't it help to have a face to go with the name or business? Maybe it's just me. But I like knowing whom I am dealing with before I actually do business. Is that to say I won't do business if I can't see them? Well, probably not, but I am more likely to respond to a business that has a public face.

This is going to be a controversial post and one I hope some staff members comments on. I know that staff chooses the features.. not you... not us... so what's the point of the "suggest" feature? Digg.com got in hot water over this a couple years ago when they were only "digging" their friends or their own posts... not what the actual public really wanted to know about.

The wind is picking up outside and threats of a tornado are eminent in near by counties. But here in the quiet and still room of my home office, it happened quite suddenly and sneakily....
I hit 100,000 points!
