real estate seo: What's Working in Organic SEO and How Long Does it Take? - 04/25/22 07:00 AM
Organic SEO used to be a thing that changed about every 2-3 months in the early 2000s. Google was constantly working to weed out the fakers, line-skippers, and spammers and it's gotten pretty good at it too. Now that the kinks are pretty much ironed out, not much has changed. Sites still need good content and backlinks rule.
But in addition to a great foundation on-site, marketers are branching out, as they should be, with social media, networking, and establishing their brand and online presence in a variety of different ways. Buyers and sellers want to know you are on the ball … (6 comments)

real estate seo: Do You Want an SEO'd Site or a Pretty One? - 07/11/17 07:39 AM
Oh, the dilemma! As an SEO person (I hate using the word 'expert' or 'pro' because we are always learning and things are always changing), we constantly work on making sites load faster, appeal to Google and follow all the rules.  But as a consumer, I want a pretty site, easy to read, attractive, and one that stands out, which usually means movement, big images and buttons.

UGH  - The Dilemma Hence lies our dilemma. I get it. You want an amazing site! Who doesn't!? But because we are SEO people first and web designers second, we build and design for … (11 comments)

real estate seo: MY FIRST FEATURE! - 6 Years Ago Today! - 11/14/16 11:16 PM
Wow, how things have dramatically changed! I joined ActiveRain November 7, 2010. We had just moved to Missouri to work with a church ministry for 2 years and I needed to supplement the income. Little did I know what that would have turned into!
This was my actual Facebook post from that day that I ran across in the memories today:
"I GOT FEATURED!! 8 Days into Blogging on ActiveRain - THE biggest real estate blog out there! (this is huge by the way and I am super pumped... can you tell?)"
Some of you that have been playing in the rain here for … (13 comments)

real estate seo: How to Dominate Search Results for a Community - 05/25/15 03:55 AM
How to Dominate for a Community with Real Estate Blogging
Zillow, Trulia, Realtor OH MY! How can the podunk little real estate agent compete on the search engines? They dominate all the major broad keywords and unless you've had a domain for 20+ years, have 18,000 high quality back links or a killer website, you're just not going to show up. Blogging for a week or two or even a couple months is just not going to get you there. So what's an agent to do?
There is a way to compete but it does take time. Nothing is going to rank immediately … (48 comments)

real estate seo: Do Not's In SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for 2011 - 02/27/11 03:16 AM
Do Not's in SEO for 2011 (Search Engine Optimization)
1. Have ANY text the same color as your background page color. Example: (Example) < you can't see it but it is there. this is dumb, useless and hurts your site from ranking. This is one of the oldest black hat techniques from the 90's, YES I SAID THE 90'S!
2. Keyword Stuff any where! This is mostly found now in titles and in sometimes in content, in alt tags etc.. An Example of this would be: (Service Culture, Bradworthly Service culture expert, Get Service Culture.) I managed to stuff the title … (65 comments)

SEO Client: "I want to ramp up the SEO this year and willing to put in huge, exorbitant bucks to make it happen"

Isn't that something every SEO professional wants to hear... but it really isn't about throwing as much money at the issue as you want and hope it does it all for you. This was my response to him.

Hi Scott.
There are a hundred different SEO marketing companies you can pour your money into but they all basically do what we do.  There are a few different directions we can go here. You COULD … (56 comments)

real estate seo: Stop Copying and Pasting! You Hear Me? Stop it Stop it Stop it! - 01/11/11 12:41 PM
Stop Copying and Pasting! You hear me? Stop it stop it stop it!
There are Website People and there are SEO people. Most website people do a little SEO and most SEO people do a little website stuff. That's more us. We do SEO on existing websites but can design one as well and have for quite a few such as our Snohomish land expert, our Seattle condos professional and even wholesale transmissions in Portland!
But when we have to take a site that someone has already tried to set up it can be a challenge. Especially when that someone has … (27 comments)

real estate seo: Wondering How Long it will Take For Your Site To Rank on Google? Well, Keep Wondering..... - 11/17/10 12:30 AM
You started blogging, working with some SEO (search engine optimization) techniques and now you wonder why you are not on the first page of Google yet? How long will it take for your site to rank well?
Here's the answer: No one knows for sure.
Not the answer you wanted? Sorry, there is no magical 3 month 12 step program for getting on the first page. If there was, I would be rich.
Of course you can get on the first page with your AR (Active Rain) blog within 10 minutes which is great. But your actual real estate website is … (14 comments)
