   The homebuyer tax credit program has been extended for qualified members of the uniformed services, members of the Foreign Services and employees of the intelligence community.    First-time homebuyer can claim a tax credit amount of up to 10% of the home's value ($8,000 max), and existing homeowners who buy a new home can claim a credit amount up to $6,500.    The sales contract must be signed by April 30th, 2011, and the purchase transaction must close by June 30th, 2011.
