It's the holiday season and whether you celebrate Christmas, Hannukah (Channukah) or other holiday, here are a few common sense safety tips to help keep you and your family safe... Decorating Never use lighted candles near trees, boughs, curtains/drapes, or with any potentially flammable item. Wear gloves while decorating with spun glass “angel hair.” You can substitute non-flammable cotton for "angel hair" When displaying a tree, cut off about two inches off the trunk and put the tree in a sturdy, water-holding stand. Keep the tree stand filled with water so the tree does not dry out quickly. Stand your tree away (6 comments)

Though many competing claims exist, the most familiar story of the first Thanksgiving took place in Plymouth Colony, in present-day Massachusetts, in 1621. I’d like to take a moment to give thanks to all men and woman everywhere who have served and are currently serving our country and the Military. Without your unyielding devotion and dedication to our great country I would not be able to enjoy the freedoms for which you have so valiantly fought. I believe many current and future citizens of the United States feel the same way as I and sometimes we either forget or are unsure of how to show our appreciation. Here are a few interesting tidbits of which you may not be aware and may even surprise you. This is the end the two part series, of Did you know? The Halloween Version! I hope you've enjoyed the Halloween facts and odities. Halloween is more Irish than St. Patrick's Day. As mentioned in my previous series, Halloween's origins come from a Celtic festival for the dead called "Samhain." They have many things going on and many people attend./ Games and candy, snow cones and popcorn etc etc. No charge for anything. Everyone is welcome. Pumpkin Carving, wed.
