Fewer North Texas homeowners are behind on their mortgage payments, but the number of Dallas-Fort Worth residents losing their homes to foreclosure rose in August.
The latest survey shows that 5.23 percent of Dallas-area homeowners with mortgages were 90 days or more behind in their payments in August, according to CoreLogic Inc. That's the lowest rate since summer 2009. Late-loan rates in the area have fallen for seven consecutive months.
