Dutchess County NY Real Estate Update July 2010
During July 2010 there were 89 single family homes sold in Dutchess County NY. This was a year over year decrease of 50 units since 139 sold in July 2009. This decrease was very noticeable since the units sold in the previous month were 205. 89 was the lowest number of units sold in July during the last 10 years.
It was also worth noting that the median price of $275,000 was the same as last year however there was an 11.5 percent jump in the average (mean) price, this was due to the fact that some … (7 comments)

At the Affordable and Workforce housing conference it was noted that 200 years of smart growth was phased out in the 1950's . Prior to this period houses were constructed on a half acre or less. Many of the Dutchess County villages and hamlets are an example of this type of planning. Then came sprawl. The trend going forward will be once again compact or cluster development.
Some of the questions that will have to be considered are:

dutchess county fairground: Rhinebeck Antiques Fair Oct.13 & 14 a great time to visit the Hudson Valley - 10/07/07 12:30 AM

Although Summer is over there are still many events to participate in. Here in the Hudson Valley there are many activities; one such is the Rhinebeck Antiques Fair scheduled for October 13th & 14th at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck NY.
It is hard to believe that this Fair has been in operation for 30 years. This year already two shows were held, one in the spring and the other in the summer. There will be many exhibitors featuring decorative items, furniture, and folk art, to name a few.
