dutchess county fairgrounds: Hudson Valley Green Fair at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck NY - April 25th & 26th - 04/24/09 06:27 PM
Get ready for the annual Hudson Valley Green Fair this weekend. With the present economic conditions many are re-thinking the way they do things. One exiciting thing that has emerged from this recession is that more people are now considering the backyard garden as a viable way to feed the family and thus maintain a healthy life style. At the green fair there will be many educational discussions. Great information can be gained from attending such a fair but it will only be valuable if such tips are implemented. Last year's Green Fair was a big success and I expect this year's (18 comments)
dutchess county fairgrounds: Saturday night in Rhinebeck with my boys - 10/18/08 10:24 PM
This morning I made a reservation for dinner at the restaurant at the Rhinecliff Hotel. Let me back up a bit; for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2006 our children gave us a gift certificate to this restaurant. The opening of the hotel had been delayed and today was the first time since it opened that we could make it. The trip to the restaurant should have been rather short however there was a lot going on in Rhinebeck this weekend. The largest event was the Sheep and Wool Festival at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. I had a couple of routes I could have (25 comments)

dutchess county fairgrounds: What we saw at the Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck - 08/20/08 11:30 PM
Today was the second day of the Dutchess County Fair. A friend and I decided to spend the afternoon checking it out. We could not have asked for better weather, and since it was midweek we did not expect it to be so crowded but it was. My friend and I wondered why it was so crowded and two reasons came to mind. With the present economic condition many could not afford to take a vacation and the fair provided an inexpensive way of getting some entertainment in the form of rides, talent show, musical acts, animal shows and competition, exhibitions etc. (10 comments)
SHEEP EXHIBIT AT THE DUTCHESS COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS IN THE SUMMER. I recently wrote about Rhinebeck as the place to be on the weekend. Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Well the NYS Wool and Sheep Festival will be held at the Dutchess County-Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck. With winter approaching it is a great time to stock up on all the useful wool items. There will be over 350 vendors, so there is something for everyone. Don't leave the children behind. I am sure they will be fascinated watching the sheep get sheared, and there is even an opportunity to (16 comments)
Scene from 2006 Hudson Valley Food & Wine Festival In recent years the Hudson Valley Food & Wine Festival was held at the Grieg's Farm In Red Hook Dutchess County. This year it will be at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck. This festival provides lots of fun for the entire family. You can enjoy the food tasting while watching a chef demonstrating how to cook with chocolate or the best way to enjoy wines. It is a change to stock up on sauces and jellies.
