The Hudon Valley Green Fair
On April 26th and 27th the Hudson Valley Green Fair was held at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck NY.
The Dutchess County Board of Realtors had a booth at the fair and many local agents provided coverage.

It was a great opportunity for real estate agents to get familar with some of the green products that impact the industry. I spoke to many of the vendors such as:

Culinary Institute of America
The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, affectionately know as the CIA, recently needed to expand their facilities to accommodate their growing student enrollment.
Six buildings were constructed to house over 420 students. The institution used the opportunity to be more environmentally conscious. To achieve this energy efficient windows and high performance insulated roofs were installed. To provide heat for the facility geothermal heat pumps were also installed. This effort to go green did draw attention. going green: New York Governor's Mansion To Go Green - 05/03/07 12:12 AM

Not long ago I wrote a post about a house that was possible the greenest house in the northeast. Since then the house was given that honor.
Today it was announced that Mrs. Spitzer the wife of the Governor of New York is working on initiative to turn the Govenor's mansion in Albany green, as well as their farm in Columbia County and their Manhattan apartment.
By setting a good example Mrs. Spitzer thinks the rest of the State will follow her example. It is amazing how by just changing to more efficient light bulbs and turning off appliances the difference it makes … (7 comments)
