A week ago I attended a Young Farmers event at nearby Greig Farm. Most of us give very little thought to how the food we eat gets to the dinner table.
At the event it was brought to our attention that the average age of a farmer in the US is 57 so in the next 20 years many will be retiring. The question is who, will fill the gap? Young farmers. Yes, that's right. This is the last Red Hook Winter Market event of the season. The two previous events were a huge success and we hate to see it end. However, it is also an indication that spring is around the corner. Hey!.

Winter Market in Red Hook was a success despite icy weather.
Despite the icy weather and the power outage, I am happy to report that the Winter Marketat the Elmendorph in Red Hook was held as planned and many turned out to participate.
