This is the last report for 2009 and what a year it was. The December market report for Red Hook NY showed 8 sales during the month; 6 in the town and 2 in the village. Most of the activity was in the lower price range just like in the rest of Dutchess County.

In September the Red Hook NY single family real estate market did not have as many sales as in the month of August. I suspect some first time buyers waited until the last moment to get in on the $8000 Tax Credit so November could be a great month for home sales.
Properties on the market in Red Hook during September ranged from $169,900 - $2,900,000

In Germantown during the month of September there was just 1 sale. Germantown like Ancram is also an area where many buy second homes. Located just 10 minutes from Hudson NY a well known antique center. Being so close to Hudson is also convenient since there is an Amtrak stop.

homes for sale: Dutchess County Real Estate Report By Town From January- June 2008 - 08/07/08 10:32 PM
I want to thank the Mid Hudson MLS for providing the sales data for each town in Dutchess County for the first six months of 2008.
With that data in hand I was able to prepare a chart to give comparison between this year and last year. It is good to take stock of where we are. Most towns saw a drop in the number of units sold as well as the median price.

This is not an illusion- you are really seeing a fork in the road. This sculpture is usually used as a reference point when giving people directions to Red Hook or Rhinebeck. Say, you are on the Taconic State Parkway and would would like to get to Rhinebeck. You would get off at the Rhinebeck exit and take a left on Route 199 in Milan to the first light where the road literally forks; go left and you would be on Route 308 which would take you to the village of Rhinebeck or continue to the right on Route 199 and … (11 comments)
