kingston rhinecliff bridge: How important is the Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge to Northern Dutchess and Ulster County ? - 09/20/11 11:55 PM

How important is the Kingston Rhinecliff Bridges is to Northern Dutchess and  Ulster County?

The Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge connects Northern Dutchess to Ulster on the other side of the Hudson River.  In Northern Dutchess you will not find any large stores, yes no malls.  Kingston on the other has a couple malls and is only 15 minutes away by the bridge.
Without the bridge Northern Dutchess Residents would have to travel 30-40 minutes to Poughkeepsie to shop. Because of the bridge residents of Northern Dutchess have 2 additional hospitals they could access within 15-20 minutes. Quick access to … (8 comments)

kingston rhinecliff bridge: Today was a sad day-Plane Crash - 02/26/11 11:54 PM

Readers of my blog know how much I love the Hudson River and the bridges over the river.  This bridge is the Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge which connects Dutchess and Ulster Counties.
Early this afternoon I heard about a plane crash which occurred to the left of this bridge.  When you hear the news you are always sad, but it is worst when you actually know the person in the crash, today was such a day.

kingston rhinecliff bridge: Speechless Sunday-Dusk at Poet's Walk in Red Hook NY - 08/15/10 02:28 PM

We enjoyed the walk and loved seeing the Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge, the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains at dusk.
It would have been … (17 comments)

kingston rhinecliff bridge: Speechless Sunday - Rain, Clouds and a Rainbow - 08/23/09 07:16 PM

Yesterday in the late evening the weather was somewhat weird.  Heavy downpours, then nothing, then another downpour.  Finally I made it to the Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge and what an awesome sight! a rainbow; so I quickly grabbed the camera, yes I could do this because, you see, I was just a passenger.

kingston rhinecliff bridge: Where Do People In Northern Dutchess Do Most Of Their Shopping? - 02/18/08 07:27 PM

It is not unusual for someone relocating to the northern Dutchess area to ask where do people shop? If you Live in the Northern Dutchess area, Red Hook and Rhinebeck, you will quickly notice the absence of the popular stores and malls.  Yes, I consider the quality of life to be among the best, with great open space and a slower pace of life.  Most of us need to shop, so, if the quality of life is so great would the residents have to travel to Poughkeepsie, which is over a half and hour away, just to shop?  Thankfully, this is not the … (8 comments)
