On September 20th, Red Hook held its annual Hardscrabble Day celebration. The name of the celebration refers to the fact that originally Red Hook consisted of what is now known as Upper Red Hook while the rest of the town was known as Hardscrabble (a name signifying a tough existence).

At CSS Bard there will be an opening reception of The Greenroom Reconsidering the Documentary And Contemporary Art which will run from September 27th 2008 - February 1, 2009.
