senior housing: New Affordable Senior Housing Coming soon to Ulster County NY - 03/26/09 11:23 PM

GROUND BREAKING FOR THE BIRCHES AT CHAMBERS
Affordable Senior housing is in short supply in many communities nationwide. This is a need in the Mid Hudson Valley. One of my specialties is working with seniors and I do get calls from children of seniors desperately searching for a senior complex.
One organization that saw the need and has built a few senior complexes in the Ulster County area is Birchez Associates LLC, one located in Saugerties and another in Esopus and a third community in the Town of Ulster'

senior housing: Red Hook Commons - Seniors Moving in - 10/06/07 10:13 PM

I have written in the past about the need for senior housing. I also wrote about the construction of the Red Hook Commons which was being built to serve this need. Well, I am happy to report that seniors started moving in over a week ago.
Today, I stopped by and chatted with a few of the new residents and the overall response was they were very happy. One senior had moved back to be near her son and grandchildren. Another senior a former resident of the village of Tivoli was so delighted to be in the village of Red Hook. With sidewalks … (6 comments)

senior housing: Northern Dutchess Hospital Responding To Seniors Housing Needs - 08/16/07 12:23 AM

I have written in the past about the need for all types of senior facilities in my marketplace, as well as around the country because of the aging population. So, I was delighted to hear recently that the Northern Dutchess hospital in Rhinebeck New York, one of the 3 hospitals operated by the Health Quest corporation, was exploring the idea of getting into the senior housing market. Finding out that the company they will probably team up with was The Eddy was also comforting. I know of the Eddy because of my former telecommunications position.
