wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday|Black sheep - 05/09/12 08:15 PM
Today was the usual Broker's Open House in Northern Dutchess. I previewed an old school house, a colonial, a ranch and a modernistic home. Living in the country, it is not uncommon for there to be some distance between each open house; along the way something always gets my attention. Today was no exception, recently I have seen many white sheep but today I saw black ones. I so wanted to get close however I honored the posted sign.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday|Dutchess County NY Equestrian Properties - 02/08/12 10:12 PM
Dutchess County NY Equestrian Properties I was recently showing houses in the Town of Clinton in Dutchess County NY when I saw these horses. This scene jogged my memory, there are many equestrian properties in Dutchess County, and as a matter of fact ,throughout the Mid Hudson Valley. This area is also known as a second home destination and it is not uncommon for buyers to have as a criteria, a barn or maybe stalls for a horse or two. One such new listing is an equestrian farm listed for 27 million dollars. View Larger Map

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday| What happened to winter? - 02/01/12 11:58 PM
What happened to winter? Today it was in the 50's and many of us ditched the coats. It was such a pleasant day to tour some of the new homes on the marke,t and the listing agents were also happy to see us because this time of year attendance is not that great. So winter seem like a distance memory but having taken many photographs of winter I can always get a quick reminder of the way things could be.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday|Just another sunset? - 12/14/11 11:11 PM
Looking at a sunset is always a great way to end a day. Time marches on, if you failed to use your time wisely that day you don't get a chance at a do over, time passes and you can't get it back. Watching the sun go down you can also be confident it will rise again, a new dawn on the horizon.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wedesday-Another old house in the Hudson Valley - 05/25/11 11:59 PM
Wednesday is the usual Broker's Open House Day and today I saw some really lovely homes. One of the house was located in such a manner that the views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains were just magnificent. I took a break between open houses to get some plants for my vegetable garden and on the way, here is a lovely old house in the Hudson Valley that I saw. On the side of the house was inscribed 1766 and it sure looks like it was built around that time period.

I was looking at some of my photos and I thought this one best described my present situation. You might have noticed I haven't written much or visited your blogs lately, not for lack of interest, just so little time and much to do. Have a great week.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wedesday-License Plates - 03/23/11 11:58 PM
When I am taking a road trip one of the things I like to do to pass the time is study license plates; and now and then I would spot a funny one which would become the topic of conversation. So what can you tell from these license plates in the photo?

wordless wednesday: Worldless Wednesday-Ice anyone? - 01/05/11 10:51 PM
Wordless Wednesday-Ice Anyone? When I am between appointments I like to enjoy a few moments alone. Today I drove down to the docks in Rhinecliff and just watched the ice floating by. Amazingly, I found it soothing. You guessed it; this ice was on the Hudson river.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday-Snow High Above the Hudson River - 12/29/10 10:26 PM
Snow high above the Hudson River was what I saw today. It started with a request to show one of my Rhinebeck listings. I was about to give the okay to show when I suddenly remembered the Blizzard from earlier in the week, so I decided to go check on the property. I had a lunch date with my daughter so I had to make sure this was okay with her especially since she was doing the driving. We got to the property and I was delighted to see the driveway was plowed. Then I saw this scene which I found

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday-The Winter Cactus a bit of color on dreary days - 12/15/10 11:04 PM
Wordless Wednesday-The Winter Cactus a bit of color on dreary days I love colors, and since winter can be so dreary at times I really appreciate the winter cactus which seems to bloom all winter. The nice thing about this plant is that it comes in a variety of colors, yes this plant can bring a smile to my face on those days when the weather outside is frightful. wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday-I could daydream all day - 09/15/10 10:47 PM
When friends come to visit it gives a good excuse for taking time to enjoy the view. Life can get busy and we sometimes don't get the time to truly appreciate the area in which we live. Taking the time to do so keeps me excited about the area and helps me to convey the many highlights of the Hudson Valley to those who may be thinking of relocating. This view from Olana never gets old, and is a great spot to bring guests that come to visit. wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday-Aha! I took a bite out of you - 09/08/10 09:46 PM
I took labor Day literally and although it was a bad allergy day, I grabbed my hedge trimmer, rakes and other outdoor tools and went to work. After hours of trimming, mowing, and raking it was time to pull the debris into the woods. I grabbed the wheel barrow and headed down the hill towards the woods. The path to my compost heap was a bit overgrown and the needles on some of this branches made me stop and pulled out a trimmer to clear the path. While doing that I ran across this white caterpillar, so of course I

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday-Even a stone walls will get my attention - 08/18/10 11:09 PM
Wordless Wednesday-Even a stone walls will get my attention Yesterday I was out previewing homes for an out of town buyer client. I was out in a beautiful area of Dutchess County, and as I went down this road which seem to go on and on. I saw many stone walls, some had the very perfect flat stones and were very nice to look at, and really enhanced curb appeal for those properties. Then I saw this stone wall and it got my attention. I really like also sorts of rock and this wall featured rocks of different shapes and sizes, so

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday-Is Rum A substitute For Vanilla I seem to think so - 08/04/10 10:53 PM
Is rum a substitute for vanilla? I seem to think so. Months ago I wrote a blog in which I mentioned that I love the brownies at Gigi's Market (yes, the farm market in Red Hook owned by Laura Pensiero of Gigi Tratoria, where Bill Clinton had lunch the other day)and one of the comments I received was from Ginger Sala who wanted me to know that the best brownies were the ones her grandmother made. She went a step further by emailing the the recipe, which I thought was such a sweet thing to do. Yes, these are some of the

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday - Reflections - 07/28/10 10:06 PM
Wordless Wednesday - Reflections There are times when you decide to take a photograph and you end up getting more than you expected. Take this photo as an example, I took the shot but what thrilled me most about it was the reflections in the water, something I had not noticed. wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday - Button Flower - 06/16/10 11:57 PM
I am not sure of the real name of this flower; it blooms all the time, however the trunk has many thorns so you have to be careful when touching. A reminder that sometimes it takes real effort to uncover true beauty. wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday-Where is my next meal? - 05/19/10 10:49 PM
Wordless Wednesday-Where is my next meal? Pigeons are very common birds, and if you ever spend any time in New York City you would have noticed them. This fellow in the photo I came across while taking a walk at Playland in Rye NY. It looks like he had no idea where his next meal would come from. You could say he is looking in all the wrong places. On a side note even Google is fascinated by pigeons do you know what the PigeonRank is? wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday-Another sunset? - 05/05/10 11:37 PM
Is that just another sunset? actually no. Each sunset is unique; and while pondering this I started thinking of all the things that are different. Then again it is all the differences that make our world such an interesting place. Just consider real estate for example why do we find it so fascinating? because the transactions and the players are so different.
