property gifting: Grant Deed Vs. Quit Claim Deed? - 12/16/08 10:47 PM
We live in Southern California and are being gifted my wife's father's home to save us the hassle of inheritance issues should any arrise with her brothers. I've asked this question on Trulia Voices as well but thought I'd ask the question here as well... What are the differences between a grant deed and a quit claim deed? What are the benefits of each one and drawbacks of each one? What would you suggest we choose when we are having a home gifted to us? Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide us.

property gifting: Property Gifting, Taxes and other Obligations - 12/13/08 01:12 AM
Just yesterday I posted a question over at Trulia titled, "Property Gifting, Taxes and other Obligations". You are more then welcome to read the details as to why I asked the question but I thought with this blog post that I'd share with you the answers that were given to me. As a soon to be new home owner via gift, the information provided was helpful but of course not complete. If after reading the responses I've received and feel that you can contribute to the discussion I'd welcome your feedback. ---------------------------------------- Fran & RowenaDilbeck Realtors GMAChttp://www.FranAndRowena.comTrulia Profile for Fran &
