Oh Boy! It's Parade Season! - 11/27/10 07:30 PM
Get ready folks.  Thanksgiving was the beginning of what I like to call "Parade Season".  Sure, we have parades for Easter, Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, Labor Day, Homecoming, etc.  All these parades are very important in our lives and we treasure each and every one of them.
However, Thanksgiving Day we had the opportunity to see the Macy's Day Parade, either live or on television.  I can remember this parade for as long as I have been alive, and let me tell you, that parade is OLD!!!!!
And, then, as always, the Sunday right after Thanksgiving has always been the day … (0 comments)

City of Hemet Centennial Christmas Parade - 11/27/10 07:06 PM

If you're in the neighborhood on Saturday, December 4th, come see our City of Hemet Centennial Christmas parade.  Hemet is celebrating 100 years (and counting), and I'm sure that this parade will be nothing short of spectacular.
In reviewing the rules and regulations for submitting an application to participate in the parade, I noticed that their biggest rule is that no float nor any person in the parade may dress in a santa suit.  This, of course, is so that the children will not be confused with the "real Santa" bringing up the rear of the parade.

The parade will begin … (2 comments)

Blue Moon of November - 11/21/10 11:15 PM
The full moon of November arrives on Sunday and will bring with it a cosmic addition: It will also be a so-called "blue moon."
There is only one catch.  As most people know, a "blue moon" is called such when a full moon occurs twice in one calendar month.  Tonight's full moon is the ONLY one this month.  So, how do they call it a "blue moon"?
Well, I am not sure.  But, if you are interested, go to the article about this phenomenon on Yahoo!  It is quite interesting, and VERY, VERY CONFUSING.

EEK ! ! ! There's A Mouse In My House! - 11/09/10 04:22 PM
The past few mornings, I am finding pieces of insulation and mouse droppings in curious places, mostly near my laundry room.  Yesterday morning, I went that way in the wee hours of the morning, and it sounded like a grizzly bear was chewing on a huge plastic tub or something.  As soon as I turned the light on, the noise ceased.  Hmmmm
This morning, I went to Home Depot and bought one of every mouse trap they had.  Turns out, you have to be pretty sharp to figure these things out.  lol
Inthemeantime, I was doing laundry, and all of a … (35 comments)
