I had a call from a customer who wanted to get in to see a rental property. Easy enough, right? I called for showing instructions and was told i had to speak to the Property Manager. I left her a message. The next day, the customer asked again and I called for the Property Manager and left message #2. Day 3, The customer called and I called back to ask if there was a way to get showing instructions for this VACANT property. I was then told that the Property Manager was out with the flu. Nice. I recently attended a Property Management Workshop. The class was made up of Property Managers, managing 100+ Properties to people like me that have never managed any properties. I started thinking about all of the agents that are getting into the Property Management game and realized just how unprepared many of them are to handle the role effectively.
In the classes I have taken (6 Hours total), I have heard again and again, that if you want to be an effective Property Manager, you have to be detail oriented, follow all of the rules and keep things uniform for everyone. Just looking … (9 comments)
