Spring TX - Property Tax Rate Decrease! - 10/11/07 09:43 AM
SPRING TX PROPERTY TAX
I must say that just writing the words Property Tax Decrease is a little weird. But its true Klein school district in Spring TX approved a 32 cent decrease from the 2006 rate for 2007. Now 32 cents may not sound like a lot, but with the median home price of $160,000 in Spring TX it amounts to $512.00 a year. These are the savings that Spring TX homeowners were promised by the State Legislation as a result of the School Finance Reform Law that was passed in 2006. The School Finance Reform Law reallocated the share of the burden of … (3 comments)

What is a Texas Basement? - 10/09/07 03:24 PM
I grew up in the Midwest and in our house we had a basement. I would have to say that our basement's main purposes of use were storage and as a hang out room for the kids. In the summer, we spent a lot of time in the basement because it was always the coolest room in the house.
In Spring TX, our homes do not have the typical underground basements because the water table is too high or in other words the soil depth is too thin making it unpractical. So the question begs what do we do for storage space and where in the house … (3 comments)

The Woodlands is one of the largest and most popular master planned communities in the country. The Woodlands was developed in 1974 as a … (0 comments)

The commonality amongst the cities on the list were relatively affordable, they missed the housing bubble but still enjoy steady employment and income growth. The article states that the cities did not draw speculators or investments the way the coastal markets did.
