activerain comments: How do I get people to comment on my posts if I'm new to ActiveRain? - 04/13/10 10:17 AM
People commenting on our posts is the most basic form of acceptance here at ActiveRain. It means that people have read what we wrote, and that makes us feel good.
Two of my recent posts about Playing in the Rain have resulted in some people emailing me asking the best way to get people to comment on their posts.
Two answers that I have seen in the past:
Write engaging content — This can be something controversial that affects real estate, such as HVCC and the homebuyer's tax credit, or it can be some other controversial topic, such as gay marriage, … (29 comments)

Something I learned only recently is that you can reference individual comments in a blog post.
Look at any comment in your blog post and you can see that they are numbered.
But did you notice that the number is in blue text and underlined?
That means it's a link.
So if you want someone to see a specific comment, just hold your mouse over the number, right click on it, click on copy shortcut, and send that shortcut link to whomever you want.
This comes in very handy when someone leaves a comment that has a link that doesn't open … (69 comments)

With each new post to my blog, I use a different picture of my cat. How ironic, perhaps, that the last picture in my old pictures directory is the one here since it might go well with the nature of this post.
I'm not usually on ActiveRain at this time of night, but I feel like I just finished writing the millionth offer for this Client over the past three months and wanted to wind down my day by reading a few blogs.
