When I passed 700,000 points, Jon Zolsky was kind enough to send me a little congratulatory message, so I thought it would be nice to recognize those members who have passed such milestones this past week so that all of us can stop by and congratulate them.
I created this list by looking at the leaderboard and then deducting 5,000 points to see if they had passed a milestone this week. This presumes that everyone did the minimum this past week (10 blog posts @ 225 points each = 2,250 points and 10 comments @ 25 points each @ … (15 comments)

Just a little fun....
Since ActiveRain has been so slow the past two weekends, I'm trying to do more stuff early in the week. When I logged off yesterday, which was just a few minutes ago, I saw that I had a nice number:

In looking at that, I also see that this post right here will be my 1,600th post at ActiveRain!

I didn't get a chance to....
I'm lucky because my other half, Russel Ray, who is a home inspector and a marketing and business consultant, has about 200 blog posts saved up for either of us to use. Unfortunately, they are in draft mode in Word, so I have to bring them over to ActiveRain and then try to make them beautiful.
Sometimes, possibly more often than not, I fail and have to call upon him to clean things up for me. Other times, I find an article that I want to use only to find that Russel already used … (9 comments)

Is there anything I should know?
Our good ActiveRain friends Al and Peggy Cunningham are going to take up residence in San Diego in just a few days. They will be attending a four-day conference September 16-19, but will be arriving in San Diego September 14 and leaving on September 21. That means they have off September 15 and September 20, so Russel and I have them scheduled to go to the San Diego Zoo with us on September 15 so they can make all the other conference attendees jealous, and then on September 20 we'll be taking them on a portion … (15 comments)

At the end of each month I like to visit the list of newbies for the month to see who joined ActiveRain, where they are from, what they did during their first days and weeks on ActiveRain, and if I can provide them with a little push here or there to encourage them to take advantage of the love affair between ActiveRain and Google.
My list of newbies here doesn't include all the members who joined in May 2010 since there usually are a few thousand members who join each month. Rather, there are qualifications to make my list:

This is the fourth month that I've created this list. We're late with our April newbies because ActiveRain wasn't being nice to me in early May.

activerain community: In honor of me reaching 400,000 points this past weekend, introducing.... - 02/01/10 05:43 PM
Many months ago Russel Ray, Marketing & Business Consultant, convinced me to join ActiveRain and start blogging.
So I did. And what do I have to show for it? Knowledge, extended family, friends (even conservative ones, I think☺), virtual travel throughout North America, and so much more. It was hard, though, especially when my first few posts got few comments.
In honor of my reaching 400,000 points this past weekend, I thought I would go see who joined ActiveRain in January 2010 and introduce some of them to you as my way of giving back to our Community. Go visit them. … (57 comments)
