bastet: Bastet, the Egyptian cat goddess - 01/24/10 10:45 PM
I'm not a big history reader, but anything that is connected to cats usually gets my attention, regardless of how old it is.
Recently the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Egypt announced that archaeologists discovered a 2,000-year-old temple in Alexandria that might have been dedicated to Bastet, the Egyptian cat goddess.
I had never heard of Bastet before, but she looks rather cute, don't you think?

Certainly not as cute as Zoey the Cool Cat, but, hey, Bastet is a couple of thousand years older!
I read about Bastet at Wikipedia, but I must admit I still haven't a clue … (15 comments)
