I've lived in San Diego since 1988 and have been able to watch many buildings go up along the San Diego Bay. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the previous building boom was going bust, but in the mid-1990s, things picked up again and lasted until around 2006. One of the new buildings that opened within the past year is what I consider one of the more beautiful buildings downtown. There are many advantages to living in a Mission Valley condominium, of which the foremost one seems to be the fact that there isn't a lot of exterior landscaping work that you have to do — no mowing the lawn, pruning the shrubs, trimming the trees, watering, putting nasty chemicals in the pool, cleaning out the spa.... The onslaught of cold, rainy weather means that Mother and Father Nature's little critters are wanting to upgrade their omes, preferably to something higher, drier, and warmer.
