flowers: Out & About San Diego with Jim Frimmer, Your Mission Valley Realtor — Testing the walk score on a Wordless Wednesday - 03/30/11 11:16 PM

Walk Score
Our updated MLS now features a walk score which tells you how walkable the neighborhood is surrounding any specific property. If your MLS doesn't have a walk score, you can find out right here: Walk Score.
The walk score of my neighborhood is a 69, one of the highest that I've seen. Although they didn't have walk scores when we moved here, the walkability of a neighborhood has always been high on my list whether renting or owning.
Today was an absolutely beautiful day to put that walkability to use, and following are some pictures of flowers … (16 comments)

flowers: Is it karma when flowers bloom at the same time a purchase offer is received? - 01/27/11 09:10 PM

Is it karma when flowers bloomat the same time a purchase offer is received? Just a little under two weeks ago I listed a condominium at Mission Greens. Behind the Mission Greens community is the Riverwalk Golf Course, the San Diego Trolley, and an open field.
The condominium is vacant so I go by every third day or so to check on things and make sure that nothing has happened — plumbing leaks, broken windows, etc.
Yesterday an agent called to tell me that she was faxing over an offer on the condominium, so today I went by to check on it. … (15 comments)

flowers: Out & About San Diego with Jim Frimmer, Your Mission Valley Realtor — The Balboa Park Rose Garden (in mid-November) - 11/14/10 09:31 PM

The Balboa Park Rose Garden(in mid-November)
San Diego claims to have the largest public rose garden in the nation, and who am I to argue with them. I do know that it will take you a few hours to walk through its many sections and admire (and smell!) all the beautiful roses. Even now, in the middle of November, the roses are blooming like it's mid-summer. The Balboa Park Rose Garden is on Park Boulevard just a couple of hundred feet south of the main entrance to the San Diego Zoo.
For all you rose lovers, following are a selection … (10 comments)

flowers: Speechless Sunday: If you're out of place, just make sure you're bigger than everyone else - 07/04/10 08:53 PM
Courtesy of my marketing guru who got me involved here at ActiveRain, and my husband who bought us a "handy dandy Canon" digital SLR camera, I find myself more and more looking at the things around me.
Pictures can not only inspire you, but the mere act of taking pictures seems to be very relaxing.
Following is one of my favorite pictures from this last week. I tagged it, "If you're out of place, just make sure you're bigger than everyone else."

flowers: This post looks (and smells) a lot better than my last post - 04/04/10 11:19 PM
I'm not a big fan of poop, so if you you read my last post, I should disclaim it and tell you that my marketing guru made me do it.
To make up for it, I'll leave you with a Sunday evening of flowers from the campus of San Diego State University.
My marketing guru can tell you that whenever I see flowers, I just have to smell them to see what kind of scent they have. I think the irises won the scent battle today, and we don't see too many irises around here.

flowers: Can I sell it on eBay? - 02/27/10 09:56 AM
I always get a kick out of some of the stuff that people will buy on eBay:
potato chip in the shape of Wisconsin chewing gum that has been chewed and spit out by a famous person dirty napkin from a restaurant because it was dirtied by a famous person dirty bed sheets from a hotel because two famous people slept on them Recently I was out taking pictures of orchids over in the Balboa Park Botanical Building and found this mommy staring at me:

I loved the flare in her dress and her outstretched arms as she danced … (18 comments)

flowers: Flowers for the ladies, courtesy of the San Diego Zoo - 04/14/09 12:05 PM
While the San Diego Zoo is a world-class Zoo, something that is not as well known is that it is also a world-class arboretum. There are many thousands of different species of plants on the Zoo grounds, and many of them have some beautiful flowers, so here today, for our ActiveRain ladies, are some flowers for you to enjoy. Hope they brighten your day and week.
